National Bird Strategy
Since 2020, we are part of the core team that advises the Ministry of the Environment (MMA) in updating the National Bird Conservation Strategy 2020-2030. The strategy seeks to maintain viable bird populations in the country so that they continue fulfilling their various roles in the ecosystems.

Vision
Create specific plans for each group of birds. In particular, Oikonos seeks to facilitate the National Plan for Seabirds which, among other things, coordinates federal agencies, academia and citizen-science in data collection, environmental policies, study of strandings and much more.
Partners and Funders:
National Forestry Corporation (CONAF), the Undersecretariat of Fishing (SUBPESCA), the Network of Bird and Wildlife Observers of Chile, the Union of Ornithologists of Chile, the Committee for the Defense of Fauna and Flora, Manomet, Oikonos, Audubon, Río Cruces Wetlands Center, Leñadura Bird Rehabilitation Center, University of Chile, University of Concepción, and Austral University.
