New Project in Chile

Isla Mocha, a Chilean natural reserve, is an important breeding site for a threatened seabird, the Pink-footed Shearwater, or Fardela Blanca.

The timing is ripe to begin a community-based conservation initiative, in collaboration with local communities, the national government, and ABC.

The Juan Fernández Islands Conservancy program will expand work to Isla Mocha to estimate the breeding population, establish protocols, and track birds during their migration to North America.
